Welcome in Walschbronn

The Sacred Heart statue

Dominating the village and visible from all sides, the statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was built in 1909 on the heights of the castle ruins at the initiative of Abbot Jung, the parish priest, at a cost of 1,730 Marks. The imposing 10-metre high base was built to accommodate a 4-metre high statue. It was inaugurated and blessed in 1910, Abbot Obry being the parish priest.

It protects the two villages of Walschbronn and Waldhouse and their crops.
