Welcome in Walschbronn

Turn left into Rue du Bruhl.

The Mater-Dolorosa chapel at the corner of Rue du Brühl and Rue de la Chapelle.

This chapel at the corner of Rue du Brühl and Rue de la Chapelle was built in 1750. A legend claims that it was built by gypsies. Inside, the scene depicts the Blessed Mother gathering the dead body of Jesus in her arms during the lowering of the Holy Cross. The Calvary behind it is a straight cross from the first half of the 19th century, renovated in 2005. It shows a King with a sceptre and a half-open casket (one of the Magi, Balthazar or Gaspard?) and probably the Blessed Mother.

To return to the starting point, go back down Rue des Jardins.

Variation (+10 min walk): continue along the rue de la chapelle until you find a small path on the left that crosses the Schwarzbach. From there turn left onto the main street until you reach the village centre. You will pass in front of the old mill of Walschbronn.
